Interesting Stats

Just like last season The Reds follow an away trip to Millwall with a home game against Birmingham.

Barnsley have lost two of their last three home meetings with Birmingham and have not beaten them at Oakwell since 2007.

The Reds have netted 50 league goals at Oakwell against Birmingham.

They have won just one of their five meetings with Birmingham home or away… and that was a stunning 5-0 triumph at St Andrews Stadium back in September 2012.

Indeed there has been no home victory for either team in the last five meetings and Brum are chasing a third successive victory at Oakwell.

Barnsley have managed to score in each of their eight Oakwell meetings with Birmingham but the Blues have netted in six of their last eight visits.

Birmingham have won exactly half of their clashes with Barnsley.

Birmingham are chasing only their second win in their last eight outings. The Midlands outfit sit fourth from bottom in the Championship, four points above Barnsley.

The Blues are unbeaten in their last two away games but have won just one of the last eight, and two overall this season.

Birmingham have managed to net just seven times on their travels this season, only the division’s bottom two sides- Barnsley and Yeovil, plus Doncaster have scored less.

They have also been beaten five times away from St Andrews Stadium, only the Reds with seven away defeats have lost more.

Lee Clark has faced Barnsley twice as a manager, both of those games coming with Birmingham. His side were famously hammered 5-0 on SKY back in September 2012 but he gained revenge by winning 2-1 in the return fixture at Oakwell three months later on Boxing Day.

Barnsley have won just one win of their last 11 league matches, and have just two maximum’s all season.

The Reds are unbeaten in their last four home games, their best run at Oakwell since September 2012. They have not managed to go five unbeaten at home for exactly four years.
