Jean-Yves Mvoto is sidelined with an ankle injury sustained last weekend and Luke Steele’s back injury is likely to see The Reds go without a substitute keeper for the fourth successive game.

Interesting Stats

Barnsley are aiming to do tomorrow what only ONE Barnsley team has ever managed before, win at Loftus Road.

That solitary victory came 63 years ago in only their second ever visit. They have gone on to lose 19 of the 22 since, including each of the last eight.

That victory was a 5-0 thumping under Angus Seed, one of only two occasions that QPR have lost 5-0 at Loftus Road, the other came only last season against Swansea.

The last time Barnsley returned from this corner of West London with anything was 14 years ago when Geoff Thomas and Nicky Eaden helped Dave Bassett’s side earn a 2-2 draw.

Rangers have won each of the last four meetings with Barnsley, home or away, scoring 11 goals in the process, including nine in the last two meetings at Loftus Road.

The R’s have also kept clean sheets in each of the last three duels.

Queens Park Rangers are unbeatable at present.. literally. The R’s are the only unbeaten side in the Championship and one of only three in the Football League (along with Leyton Orient and Preston)

They have also just set an amazing club record of seven consecutive league matches without conceding a goal.

The last Championship player to score against the R’s in 2013-2014 was James Vaughan in the 35th minute of a 1-1 draw at Huddersfield on the 10th August…. 685 minutes of league football ago!

Vaughan is also one of only two players to score against Rangers in the Championship this season- Sheffield Wednesday’s Atdhe Nuhiu being the other on the opening day.

Their tally of just two league goals conceded is the best in the Football League and means that tomorrow the Football League’s best defence will come up against it’s worst.

Ironically though Barnsley have actually scored more league goals than QPR (11 to 10) but The Reds have shipped in TWENTY since Rangers last conceded.

Barnsley have lost all their five games on the road this season- a sorry club record and have gone 12 matches since they last won away from Oakwell.

They are looking for their first win in six matches. The last time they went six without a win was December of last year when they failed to win for 11.

The Football League’s leakiest defence has gone their first 10 matches without a clean sheet for the first time since 1966-67 when it took 12 matches to keep a shut out.

Overall Barnsley have now won just two of the last 19 matches in all competitions and one of the last 13.

During Harry Redknapp’s 30-year managerial career he has faced Barnsley eight times (with Bournemouth and West Ham) winning five and losing three.
