Shotton dismissal saddens Robins

Published: 07 Feb 2010 - 09:36:25

Barnsley boss Mark Robins was disappointed to see his side's 1-0 victory over Watford tainted by the dismissal of Ryan Shotton. The Tykes won despite playing for the last 14 minutes with only 10 men after full-back Shotton was sent off for a late challenge which caught Lloyd Doyley.Robins said: "He did well to get the ball and he has got to learn to pass the ball and to concentrate more."I'm disappointed that we have lost his services for the next match."The winner came nine minutes into the second half when the unmarked Emil Hallfredsson raced into the penalty area and fired home from 12 yards. Assessing the goal, Robins added: "He (Hallfredsson) got behind the full-back and got in a great position and stuck it in the net."
