Scotland In Talks With Reds
Whilst Flicker will not let Stones go cheap.
Barnsley have confirmed they have spoken to Jason Scotland.
The 33 year old has had a prolific career in the game, scoring 145 times in 365 games for San Juan Jabloteh, Defence Force, Dundee United, St Johnstone, Swansea, Wigan and Ipswich, with his most prolific spell in English football coming between 2007 and 2009 when he netted 45 in 90 games for the Swans.
The Trinidad and Tobago international who has scored eight times in 41 games for his country and went to the 2006 World Cup, agreed to leave Ipswich by mutual consent at the start of this week after starting just three times for them this season.
Reds boss David Flitcroft has confirmed he has spoken to Scotland but as of yet there is no further moves to sign him.
Meanwhile Flitcroft is adamant promising full-back John Stones will not be leaving the club for less than £3m.
A host of Premier League clubs are interested in the England Under 19 international but the Oakwell hierarchy will not let him leave on the cheap this month. Any deal that occurs in January will also have to include the buying club allowing him to remain with the Reds for the rest of the season.
