Saddlers switch suits Devaney

12 October 2010 11:05
Martin Devaney has hinted that he would welcome the chance to make his loan switch from Barnsley to Walsall permanent in the future. The 30-year-old has been a peripheral figure at Oakwell for the last two years, spending most of the time on the substitute's bench, and welcomed the opportunity to start the Saddlers' League One victory against Exeter City. "It's one month initially but, if the team are winning and I'm playing, why not longer?" he said. "We'll see how it goes. Saturday was magnificent but there are going to be ups and downs over the next few weeks. "A lot of people raised their eyebrows and asked 'why are you going to a team bottom of the league when there would have been other clubs?'. But it's a challenge and I'm up for the challenge."
