Robins in buoyant mood

Barnsley manager Mark Robins is expecting his team to face a stern examination when they take on title-favourites QPR in their opening npower Championship clash.Neil Warnock's team are widely expected to mount a strong promotion challenge while Robins has been working hard over the summer to shore up his squad. The Tykes showed flashes of promise last season and Robins has brought in seven new signings to strengthen his squad in an attempt to get off to a good start at Loftus Road.Robins told the Sheffield Star: "The proof is always in the pudding but I've been really pleased with the new lads and the progress we've made in pre-season. It's a new season and a new start for us."We know we've been handed a really difficult test against one of the fancied teams. You're going to get a tough test against anybody on the opening day but hopefully we can go down there and give a good account of ourselves."He added: "I'm pleased with pre-season, it's always good to win because it's good for confidence. There's been a big turnover of players during summer so it's going to take time for everything to click into place."
