Published : 09 Aug 2010 16:00:45

Manager Mark Robins has promised "to pick a side to win" when Barnsley take on Rochdale in the first round of the Carling Cup.Summer signings James McEveley, Jason Shackell and Goran Lovre made their debuts in the opening day defeat at QPR, while Jeronimo Neumann was a second-half substitute.Neumann is expected to start on the bench again but striker Iain Hume, another second-half replacement at Loftus Road, could be included in the starting line-up.Fellow summer recruits, strikers Liam Dickinson and Michael Boulding, both unused substitutes, and veteran forward Andy Gray, in fine form during pre-season but left out altogether at the weekend, will all be hoping to play some part against Dale.Winger Jim O'Brien is not expected to make his competitive debut due to a thigh injury but new Manchester City loan signing Kieran Trippier could be included in the squad.
