Robins announcement on hold

The Tykes had been expected to unveil Robins as a replacement for Davey, who departed Oakwell by mutual consent at the end of last month, but the two South Yorkshire clubs remain locked in talks and Monday's scheduled press conference has been put on hold. A club statement read: "Barnsley Football Club are still in protracted negotiations with Rotherham United FC regarding a compensation package for manager Mark Robins and his backroom team and these discussions have not been concluded at present. "Barnsley Football Club hope to be in a position to unveil its new manager in the very near future." Davey departed after the Tykes' home defeat to Reading just over a week ago, which left the club at the foot of the Championship without a win from their first five league matches.
