Ritchie's contract gripe

Barnsley boss Andy Ritchie has hit out at his chairman Gordon Shepherd as he is still waiting to be offered a new contract at Oakwell.
Ritchie will be out of contract next summer and confirmed that, following talks with Shepherd late last week, the club are now dragging their heels on handing him new terms.
It is a big blow to Ritchie as the club refused South Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday permission to speak to him when they were looking for a new manager recently, hinting it was because he would be tied down to a new contract in the near future.
However, following Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Crystal Palace, Ritchie said: "I had a chat with the chairman on Thursday, and there's not a contract offer on the table - at least not for the foreseeable future.
"I have eight months to go on my current deal and, as far as I'm concerned, there are no talks in the pipeline. I feel let down and disappointed."
