Reuben Rewarded!

Young starlet gets new contract.

Reuben Noble-Lazarus has signed a two-year contract extension at Oakwell, tying him to the club until 2015.

The 19 year old who holds the record as the Football League’s youngest ever player has been rewarded for continuing to develop well at the club.

He broke the Football League’s record when making his debut against Ipswich in 2008 aged just 15 years and 45 days and has gone on to make 30 appearances for the club, although 25 of those have been from the bench.

The winger cum striker has netted twice for the Reds including a stunning overhead kick in the 2-2 draw at Leicester back in December.

Manager David Flitcroft told the club’s official website:

“Reuben has got natural clever movement as a player and I feel there will be goals in him and he will also create goals for others,”

“He has come a long way this season and has learnt a lot. Reuben is certainly a player with potential and we are starting to see some of that coming through as he continues to mature and his understanding of what I want and need in a player grows.

"Reuben has been working hard under the guidance of Guy Proctor and he has accepted the drills and programme that have been put in place to help build him up as a player for the future.

“Patience is needed as together we build Reuben up to play men’s football in an outstanding league.”
