Barnsley have been boosted by the news Paul Reid is making good progress from his hamstring injury and should be fit to face Colchester.
Reid has been forced to miss the last two games with the problem, but assistant boss Rick Holden says the player is over the problem and will be fit for the top-of-the-table clash against the U's.
The Tykes are just four points behind Phil Parkinson's side and victory at Oakwell would give their hopes of clinching an automatic promotion place a huge boost.
"Paul is now back in full training after recovering from back and hamstring problems," Holden revealed.
"He has shown no ill effects and will be raring to go against Colchester."
