Barnsley have been drawn at home in the first round of the Capital One Cup and will face local rivals, League Two new boys Scunthorpe United.
The Iron, who were relegated from League One in May will arrive at Oakwell in the week commencing 5th August 2013.
It is the first time The Reds have been drawn at home in the competition since the First Round of the 2011-2012 season and they were knocked out by another League Two outfit- Morecambe.
Barnsley have only managed to make it past the First Round once in the past four years and that was last year when they eliminated Rochdale but were beaten in the Second Round by eventual winners Swansea. Scunthorpe on the other hand have made it past the opening round in each of the past four seasons.
