Exeter City full-back Scott Golbourne is in Barnsley holding talks with the Reds over a move to Oakwell.

The 23-year-old moved to Exeter in July 2009 and has made 121 appearances for the Devon outfit.

Golbourne began his career with hometown team Bristol City and made 14 appearances for the Robins before he moved to Reading in January 2006 for an undisclosed fee.

He only managed three league appearances for the Royals, two of which were in the Premier League. Whilst with Reading, he spent time on loan with Wycombe and Bournemouth.

Meanwhile, defensive midfielder Miles Addison has returned to parent club Derby County after Keith Hill decided not to extend his loan deal with the club.

Addison moved to Barnsley on loan until January as part of the deal which took Jason Shackell to Pride Park. And while the Reds extended the deal at the beginning of the month, they have decided not to retain him.

He made 13 appearances for the Reds.
