Midfielder tied down for another year

Energetic midfielder David Perkins has signed a contract extension at Oakwell which will see him stay with the Reds until the end of the 2013/2014 season.

The 30-year-old signed from Colchester at the beginning of last season, becoming Keith Hill's first signing and went on to make 35 appearances for the Reds.

He is the second Barnsley player to commit to the club in two days after promising John Stones signed on for another three years yesterday.
