O'Brien set for first start

Barnsley's summer signing Jim O'Brien could make his first competitive appearance for the club against Crystal Palace. But the Tykes will be without defender Stephen Foster, sidelined for seven days as a precaution after sustaining concussion in midweek. Former Motherwell winger O'Brien, who signed a pre-contract agreement in May, has been struggling with a thigh injury and missed the opening-day defeat at QPR and Tuesday's Carling Cup upset against Rochdale. Manager Mark Robins could recall striker Andy Gray and winger Martin Devaney to his starting line-up after both started on the substitutes' bench against Rochdale while Iain Hume will also be hoping for a recall. Recent signing Jeronimo Neumann was omitted from the squad in midweek after appearing as a second-half replacement at QPR while Robins has vowed to make further changes after seeing his side make a disappointing start to the season.
