Npower Championship Matchday Twenty-One: Leicester City v Barnsley
Midfielder Jacob Mellis is a doubt with the dead leg that forced him off half an hour into last weekend’s 4-1 defeat at Watford. David Perkins is set to miss a seventh match in a row with a hamstring injury but he has resumed training and should be fit for next weekend’s South Yorkshire derby.

Leicester have won exactly double the amount of meetings as Barnsley- 50 to 25.
The Foxes need just two more goals to reach 100 v Barnsley at home.
The Reds have won just nine times in 54 trips to this part of the Midlands and only one of the last seven.
That arrived last season when an Andy Gray brace sealed a 2-1 victory at the King Power Stadium.
Incidentally that win in January was Barnsley’s last on the road until the 5-0 at Birmingham in September, and The Reds have lost 16 of the 20 away matches they have played since the victory over Nigel Pearson’s side.
That win ended a run of five straight defeats at Leicester, four of which occurring without Barnsley even scoring.
Leicester have pushed themselves to the brink of the automatic promotion places in the Championship courtesy of one defeat in six matches, and three wins in the last four.
They have won their last two home matches, scoring 10 goals in the process.
The Foxes have the second best home record in the division, having won eight and lost just one of their 10 home games this season and they have let in just seven goals in front of their own supporters, a record bettered only by league leaders Cardiff who have won every home game in 2012-2013.
The 24 they have scored at the King Power Stadium is bettered only by second placed Crystal Palace.
Barnsley are now without a win in their last nine matches, their worst run in two years. They have lost six of the last eight games and have lost three of the last four away from home.
No team has accrued more second tier points than Barnsley and Leicester, with The Reds leading the way. Victory for Leicester tomorrow would be their 1,000th victory at this level. The Reds achieved this feat on the 3rd January 2011 when they defeated Coventry City 2-1. They now reside on 1,022, but their return of 17 points from 20 games is their worst in 11 years- the 2001-2002 season when they had 15 at this stage and were relegated the following May.
If Marcus Tudgay nets tomorrow it will be for the third game in a row, the first Reds player to do this since Ricardo Vaz Te last season who scored against Peterborough, Crystal Palace and Ipswich in succession.
