Interesting Stats

Five of the last six meetings between the two sides have ended in draws including the last four with three of those goal-less.

The one exception came in September 2009 when Barnsley, at that point bottom of the Championship table without a win, triumphed 3-2 at Pride Park in what was Mark Robins first win as manager.

Barnsley are unbeaten in their last seven meetings with The Rams, stretching back to the 2006-2007 season, but The Reds have won just 12 of the 27 clashes at Oakwell, with Derby not far behind on nine victories.

The Rams have though won just one of their last seven trips.

If tomorrow’s meeting is going to be another stalemate it will mean Barnsley have to end the division’s current longest streak without a draw. After drawing five in a row back in September, The Reds have not had a stalemate in any of the 18 matches since- winning nine and losing nine. And if it is to be goal-less they will have to end another unwanted Championship record- they have gone 10 matches since their last clean sheet, the longest current such run in the division.

Barnsley have won just two of their last eight matches and have lost four of their last five at home.

Derby could be classed one of the most consistent or inconsistent teams in the division, depending on which way you look at it. At the start of the season Nigel Clough’s side won their first four matches, but lost five in a row in November. They have currently won five of their last six league matches and have conceded just once in that run.

Derby have won just one of their six midweek games this season whilst Barnsley have won three of their six- the most recent three.

Barnsley are the only side in the Championship yet to win a match 1-0, whilst The Rams have achieved it six times, including in three of their last four matches.
