Barnsley have been once again besieged by injury problems with boss Keith Hill claiming the situation now is worse than this time last week. Full backs Jay McEveley and Bobby Hassell are both out after being forced off during the 2-0 defeat at Portsmouth on Saturday. Hassell was withdrawn at half time with a recurrence of the groin injury that forced him off in the previous match against Coventry whilst McEveley also had to limp off at Fratton Park to leave The Reds with 10 men after they had used all three substitutes.
Craig Davies is fully fit again after coming off the bench at Pompey and Rob Edwards is likely to step back into defence.

Interesting Stats
Barnsley and Burnley meet only one day off exactly a year after they did last season. On the 19th October 2010, The Reds were hammered 3-0 at Turf Moor.
Both clubs have met on Boxing Day in three of the last four seasons, but wont in this campaign. They also did not in 2009 but that is because Burnley were in the Premier League.
Burnley’s 2-1 win at Oakwell last season was their first success there since 1935 but they do have a reasonable record in this part of South Yorkshire having won 30% of their trips and drawn another 30%.
The Clarets also only need one more goal to hit 100 against Barnsley.
There are two Barnsley connections expected to be in the Burnley ranks. Striker Jay Rodriguez who has hit eight goals in 13 appearances so far this season had a short loan spell at Oakwell in February 2010. The 22 year old came off the bench at Preston to score on his debut in a fantastic 4-1 success but that was his only goal and he made only one start for The Reds, in a 3-1 home defeat to Plymouth. Also if he appears tomorrow night it will be his 100th game for the Clarets.
The other man well known to the Oakwell faithful fared much better. Full-back Kieran Trippier who has joined the Clarets on a season long loan from Manchester City, has spent most of the last two seasons on a similar spell with The Reds. The England Under 21 international who made his debut with the Young Lions whilst on loan under Mark Robins made 44 appearances in total with Barnsley scoring two goals- both free kicks, against Leeds and Doncaster.
Barnsley’s goals for tally of just nine is one of the lowest in the division- only Coventry and Doncaster have scored less. However The Reds goal against tally of 11 is one of the best in the Championship- only West Ham, Hull, Middlesbrough and Leicester have a tighter defence.
You should expect goals at Oakwell tomorrow however as both sides are struggling for clean sheets this season. Barnsley’s have kept just three this season- and only one in the last six, whilst Burnley have kept just one – in their last away outing.
Victory for Barnsley would give them back to back home wins for the first time in 11 months, whilst three points for Burnley would be their first back to back away successes since February.
