Ryan Tunnicliffe comes straight into the squad after joining on loan from Manchester United but Scott Golbourne has been ruled out for the rest of the season after surgery on his knee.
Kelvin Etuhu should be fit after breaking his nose last weekend but Stephen Dawson is around a week to 10 days away from returning.

Interesting Stats:
Barnsley have a woeful record at Bristol City, winning just four of their 43 visits, the last of which came 20 years ago.
The Reds have failed to win any of their last 12 trips to Ashton Gate and have lost five of the last six.
There is usually goals when Barnsley are in town. The last six meetings at Ashton Gate have produced 24 goals and in that spell Barnsley have managed to score three times on two occasions but still not won.
On the last meeting in Bristol, the home side won 2-0, in April 2012, to take them over the 100 mark in home goals scored against Barnsley.
Barnsley defeated City 1-0 at Oakwell back in September, which until David Flitcroft took over was The Reds’ last home win! But it is 56 years since they last did a league double over the Robins. Back in 1956-57 season Barnsley won 2-1 at Ashton Gate and then 3-0 at Oakwell.
The Robins currently prop up the Championship table, six points adrift of safety but they have won each of their last three home matches, keeping clean sheets in two of those.
They have managed six home wins this season, the highest amount amongst the division’s bottom eight sides and are bidding for a fourth successive home victory, last achieved in April 2011.
Their 30 home goals scored is also the best of anybody outside the top nine.
However their leaky home defence has let them down. City have shipped 34 goals in front of their own supporters this season and 62 overall. Nobody has conceded more home goals in the Championship or more goals overall.
Bristol City have lost 20 of their 33 league games this season- the most in the top FIVE levels of English football.
Just like at this stage last season the Robins have 31 points from 33 games, but 12 months ago they were six points off bottom spot. Barnsley are five points and six places worse off than they were 12 months ago.
Barnsley have now won six matches in a row for the first time in 33 years and four league games on the bounce for the first time since December 2011.

Barnsley have scored at least twice in each of their last five matches. They have not managed this feat in six successive games for 13 years. Back in December 1999/January 2000 they managed it in seven successive games by hitting 3,3,3,2,2,2,5.
Barnsley have also managed to score in each of their last 13 matches since a 1-0 home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in December. It is their longest consecutive scoring run since the start of the 1999-2000 season when they netted in each of their first 13 games.
The last time they managed to net in 14 successive games was the 1996-1997 promotion season.
The Reds have lost just once under David Flitcroft, but it came the last time they faced a side in the Championship relegation zone- Peterborough on New Year’s Day.
The Reds have netted first half goals in two of their last four Championship matches but are the division’s lowest first half scorers with 12.
