Interesting Stats:

David Flitcroft’s men are aiming to do what only one Barnsley side has managed in the last 30 years- win at Hillsborough.

The Reds are unbeaten on their last two trips, winning one and drawing one, but prior to this they had lost 10 in a row at S6.

Wednesday have won 19 of the 30 Hillsborough meetings and have lost just two of the last 14 meetings home or away.

Victory for the Owls would give them their first double over The Reds since 2006-2007.

Sheffield Wednesday have netted only three times in their last six matches but have conceded only five.

The Owls have won just two of their last seven matches, lost three of the last four and have lost each of their last two home games, both without scoring a goal.

Wednesday have won just six home games this season- only Wolves, Peterborough (who both occupy the bottom three), Blackpool and Charlton have won less in front of their own supporters.

Their 10 home defeats is also the joint most in the Championship, along with Peterborough. Only Aldershot- bottom of the entire Football League have lost more home matches this season.

They have conceded 31 home goals this season, nobody outside the bottom three have conceded more. They have kept just one home clean sheet in the Championship this season, in a 0-0 draw with fellow relegation battlers Wolves in January.

Victory for Barnsley tomorrow would put them just one point behind their entire points tally for 2011-2012.

The Reds are on the division’s current longest scoring run of 15 successive league games. The last Championship team to stop them scoring was Sheffield Wednesday, back in December.

Barnsley have also scored in each of their last 10 away matches.

They are the only side in the division to have won every match in which they have kept a clean sheet. They have not drawn 0-0 since the final day of last season.

Barnsley’s last visit to Hillsborough was a draw but The Reds have drawn just one of their last 12 matches in all competitions.

David Flitcroft has led the club to 10 victories in his 16 games in charge and seven leagues wins from 11 and they are hunting for a third successive victory, something they have achieved just once this season, when they won six in a row at the start of the calendar year.

The Reds are searching for their first away victory in four. They have gone three away matches without victory after winning four away matches in a row prior to this.
