Interesting Stats:

The first ever meeting between these two sides was in the 1912/13 FA Cup and Blackburn's 3-2 victory at Oakwell meant they had knocked the holders out of the competition. Indeed Blackburn inflicted on Barnsley only their third defeat in 25 matches in the competition at the time spanning three years.

100 seasons later Blackburn are two goals shy of a century against Barnsley.

Along with Nottingham Forest, Blackburn are one of only two sides in the Championship still unbeaten this season.

Rovers have netted eight goals in their last two matches but have conceded six. Indeed Steve Kean's side have kept just one clean sheet in their last eight matches.

Barnsley have two shutouts to their name this campaign but have the worst goal difference outside the relegation zone.

The Reds have scored one goal in each of their league games this season. The last time they scored more than one in a league match was way back in February.

They have though scored in all five league matches this season. The last time they managed this was 2006-2007 when they scored in each of their first eight.

The Reds have though only scored five times this season, only Charlton, Ipswich and Peterborough who occupy three of the bottom four league positions have scored less.

Blackburn on the other hand are the Championship's top scorers with 12 goals. Victory for them tomorrow would give them their best start to a season since 1994- a season that ended with the club as Champions of England.

For the second time in three days, Barnsley are facing the league leaders.

The Reds have an appalling record away from Oakwell, having lost 11 of their last 12 away games.

Rovers meanwhile have won both their league games at Ewood Park this season and three of their last four home matches.
