Hassell, sidelined for three months earlier in the season due to an Achilles injury, had surgery to resolve a groin problem earlier in the week and will be out of action for at least a fortnight.

Barnsley will also be without winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce, who completed a permanent move to Bristol City this week.

Tykes manager Robins is not expected to make many changes to his starting line-up, but strikers Andy Gray and Iain Hume are pushing for recalls to the starting line-up.

Robins opted to start with midfielder Anderson De Silva on the substitutes' bench last week and could be tempted to recall the Brazilian.

Barnsley were leading 4-1 at Home Park in November when the original fixture was controversially abandoned in the 58th minute due to a waterlogged pitch.
