McShane In On Loan
Irishman to cover Foster injury The Reds have brought in Hull City's Irish defender Paul McShane on a two-month emergency loan deal. Manager Mark Robins has moved swiftly to plug the hole in the Reds defence left by the injury to former skipper Stephen Foster, who has been ruled out for "several weeks" with a re-occurance of the shin injury picked up at Doncaster. McShane, 27, has made more than 75 appearances for the Tigers since joining from Sunderland in 2009 following a successful loan spell at the KC Stadium. He has made 18 appearances this season and has Premier League experience with both the Black Cats and Hull. McShane started out at Manchester United and was let out on loan to Brighton and Walsall before leaving Old Trafford. West Brom snapped him up and he went on to make 32 appearances for the Baggies, scoring twice. Sunderland clinched the £1.5m signing of McShane in 2007 and in a two-year spell at the Stadium of Light he played 24 times before moving to Hull, initially on loan. He has also made 16 appearances for the Republic of Ireland.
