Kozluk reveals Palace snub

Published: 26 Jun 2009 - 10:02:00

Kozluk, 31, turned down a chance to join Warnock, who he played under at Sheffield United for eight years, in London on a three-year contract, preferring to sign a new one-year deal with Barnsley which he describes as "perfect". The full-back told the Tykes' website: "Neil Warnock offered me a three-year contract with Crystal Palace but I did not want to leave Barnsley. "It was the perfect deal for me. As soon as the season finished Simon (Davey, Barnsley manager) told me he wanted me to stay and there was never any question of me going anywhere else. "Hopefully now all that speculation will be put to bed because I want to be here. I could have jumped ship but my family is settled and I am enjoying my football. I love it here." Kozluk, who came through the youth set-up at Derby County before joining the Blades in 1999, has played 68 times for Barnsley since his move in 2007.
