Kozluk: Ref's decision cost Tykes

23 April 2009 10:28
Rookie referee Steven Cook adjudged Kozluk to have handled Freddy Eastwood's stoppage-time volley after consulting with his linesman, but the Tykes full-back insists the ball hit his ribs. Elliott Ward converted the spot-kick to deny Barnsley two crucial points at the Ricoh Arena in their scramble to avoid the drop.[LNB]Kozluk told BBC Radio Sheffield: "The ball came across and I could see that Eastwood was going to stick it in. It hit me in the ribs. I can see a ball mark in my ribs.[LNB]"I went over to the linesman and saw him signalling for a penalty. I showed him where the ball had hit my ribs. The referee asked the linesman whether it was a penalty, he said 'I think so'. I told him that it is our livelihoods at stake from a decision like that.[LNB]"You can clearly see the ball mark on my ribs. I have never been as distraught after a game in my life. We were a minute away from a four-point gap on Norwich, but we have to pick ourselves up and go out and beat Wolves.[LNB]"I hope the referee looks back at that decision because that cost us."[LNB][LNB]
