Kieran Could Be Set For Return Tripp To Oakwell

Youngster in the cold at City. Manchester City youngster Kieran Trippier could be set for another loan stint at Barnsleyafter being left out in the cold at Eastlands. The 20 year old England Under 21 international had a highly successful season with The Reds last year, clocking up 41 appearances and scoring cracking free-kicks against Yorkshire rivals Leeds and Doncaster. This coupled with three games in the latter stages of the 2009-2010 season saw him become a crowd favourite at Oakwell. Trippier, who came through the youth team at City but has failed to make a single appearance for the mega bucks club since turning professional in 2008 was hoping to engineer his way into the first team for 2011-2012 but that now looks highly unlikely after he was left of the first team party that have travelled to America for pre-season and he was left to train at the club’s Carrington training ground with players such as Craig Bellamy, Shay Given, Nedum Onuoha and Wayne Bridge (all apart from Given, who spent all season on the bench, were, like Trippier sent out on loan last season) who are all expected to be shipped out by manager Roberto Mancini this summer to make way for more multi million pound signings. This could pave the way for “Tripps” to make an instant return to South Yorkshire if new boss Keith Hill believes he would fit into his new look side. 42 year old Hill has this week admitted he is looking to make two more signings when the club return from their pre-season training camp in Spain.
