Barnsley manager Paul Hart has handed a first professional contract to teenage striker Nathan Joynes.
Joynes has been handed a deal running until the summer of 2007, having impressed Hart in recent months.
He told the Sheffield Star: "Nathan was injured when I first came here so my view was limited.
"He has qualities that appealed to me, but having said that, he has a long way to go.
"I set him certain targets and he has delivered."
