Jeronimo Becomes The Neu Mann
Argentine trialist signs on The Reds have made their seventh summer signing with the capture of the mystery trialist who goes by the name of Jeronimo Morales Neumann. The 24-year-old forward joins the club on a one-year deal with the option of another year extension. He started his career with River Plate before moving on to fellow Argentinian side San Lorenzo. Instituto de Cordoba were the next port of call for Neumann and he bagged 9 goals in 21 games whilst there. This impressive record caught the eye of Estudiantes La Plata. He played in the Copa Libertadores for Estudiantes as well as the Primera Divison de Argentina. He featured, albeit as a substitute in the last two friendly matches with local rivals Huddersfield and Sheffield Wednesday and has impressed Mark Robins enough to earn a permanent deal. Reds boss Robins told www.barnsleyfc.co.uk: "I am delighted to have the opportunity to bring Jeronimo here to Oakwell. I was very pleased to have the chance to get him over for a closer look, he has impressed me and I cannot wait to work more with him. "Jeronimo will bring something extra to our attack next season. He has pace and can play anywhere across the front. He is an exciting player and one we can nurture and bring him on." He joins Jason Shackell, Jim O'Brien, Goran Lovre, Jay McEveley, Liam Dickinson and Diego Arismendi on the arrivals list at Oakwell this summer.
