Jeronimo debut delayed

Barnsley will be without new signing Jeronimo Morales Neumann for the opening npower Championship game of the season against QPR. The Argentinean forward is waiting for some paperwork to be finalised following his move from Estudiantes and Tykes boss Mark Robins believes the issue could take at least a fortnight to resolve. Neumann's absence opens the door for veteran striker Andy Gray to stake a claim for a return to the Barnsley line-up following impressive pre-season form. He could be partnered up-front by Liam Dickinson, a summer capture from Brighton. Barnsley's debutants will be led by Jason Shackell, who has been awarded the captains armband following his summer move from Wolves. The other players in contention to make their Tykes' bows at Loftus Road are Jim O'Brien, Goran Lovre and Jay McEveley.
