Hume determined to impress
10 Apr 2010 - 12:39:38
Barnsley frontman Iain Hume is determined to live up to his £1.2million price-tag, having endured a tough first two seasons at Oakwell.
The 26-year-old Canada international saw his first campaign ended in November 2008 by an horrific head injury sustained against Sheffield United, while this season he has scored just five times.
He told the Sheffield Star: "I hope my best is to come. I'm going to have my critics because of the my price-tag, but that's something I've got to live up to. I've not done that as of yet.
"Obviously because of what happened last year didn't help, but that's behind me and I've got to move on from that.
"Hopefully from now until the end of the season I can get a run of games and hopefully I can add to the five goals that I've got and push forward.
"If I can get a good pre-season and get really fit, then hopefully I'll be able to live up to the hype."
