Hill Wants To Add Two More

Striker and defender on wish-list. Barnsley boss Keith Hill has revealed he wants to add a striker and a defender to his squad before they jet off for a pre-season training camp in Spain. Hill has already signed up six new recruits for the 2011-2012 season but after losing captain Jason Shackell to Derby he wants one more centre half as new defensive recruits Jim McNulty and Scott Wiseman play more as full backs than in the middle. The 42 year old Hill is also on the hunt for another striker which increases speculation that Daniel Bogdanovic could make a shock return to Oakwell. At the moment Hill only has Andy Gray, Danny Haynes and new signing Craig Davies as established first team strikers, although 17 year old Reuben Noble-Lazarus is expected to play a more prominent part after opening his account in the final day victory over Millwall in May. Hill told the Star: “I’d like another centre-back and I do think we’re a little light up front, so that’s another area I’d like to strengthen. “We do need a bit more depth in the squad, there’s no doubt about that, but I’m really pleased with the players that I’ve brought in so far. “The players we’ve got had a good pedigree and I believe we can help them become better players. “We’re a bit light in that [striker] department so I’m looking at that area, but I’ve been quite happy planning from back to front. “Up front we’ve got [Danny] Haynes, [Andy] Gray and Davies, but I know we need another striker to complement that unit. “I’d like to have a couple more signed before we go to Spain.”
