Hassell sidelined by surgery

Barnsley defender Bobby Hassell has been ruled out for a fortnight after undergoing abdominal surgery earlier on this week.

The 29-year-old full-back missed the 2-1 defeat by Sheffield Wednesday last weekend and will now be absent for another couple of weeks at least.

Physio Chris Burton told the club's official website: "Bobby had a minor operation on Monday to repair a small tear in his external oblique muscle, which was giving him some abdominal pain.

"It was a minor surgical procedure and he should be back running within seven to ten days after his operation.

"We are probably looking at a return to action in two to three weeks post-op."
