Barnsley have today confirmed that Marlon Harewood will be released when his contract expires this summer.
The 33 year old has netted six times in 42 appearances in two different spells with the club.
The former Blackpool and Nottingham Forest striker’s first stint was his most productive when he netted four times in 10 games in 2011 whilst on loan from the Seasiders but he managed just two in 32 when signing permanently last summer. His strikes in 2012-2013 came in a 4-1 home defeat to Forest and a 2-1 reverse at Peterborough.
