Hammill edges closer to Tykes deal

Hammill enjoyed a successful loan spell at Oakwell last season and is ready to return to the Championship club, but the unlikely factor of a trip to the dentist has delayed proceedings. Davey said: "With Adam Hammill we are very close but not signed, sealed and delivered. Unfortunately we have been delayed a little bit because he needs to have his wisdom teeth removed and is having an operation on Monday." Davey also admitted he has been frustrated by the lack of activity in the transfer market so far this summer. Davey said: "We've only managed to bring Onome Sodje in at the moment and pre-season has been frustrating. "There have been obstacles but not at our end financially. "But as we saw against City, our young players can come in and do an effective job within the squad that we have got. "I'd prefer to get more players in but what this group have given in pre-season with regards to attitudes, performances and results means I'm happy to go into the season with them."
