Grayson Leaves Huddersfield!

Managerial casualty in Yorkshire.

Barnsley’s Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town have today announced they have parted company with manager Simon Grayson after just 11 months in charge.

The 43 year old ex Leeds boss took over the Galpharm Stadium outfit after they surprisingly fired Lee Clark with the club sitting fourth in League One last February. Grayson led the Terriers to promotion, defeating Sheffield United in the Play-Off Final on penalties and they made a good start to life in the Championship, losing just one of their opening seven matches.

The former Blackpool defender leaves with Huddersfield 18th in the table but they have won just one of their last 13 league and cup matches and were hammered 4-0 at Watford on Saturday. Their last league victory came at Oakwell.

Huddersfield become the ninth Championship club to part company with their manager this season and of the teams occupying the bottom 11 places in the league only Peterborough, Sheffield Wednesday and Birmingham have not changed manager.
