Foster crucial to Tykes - Davey

Foster, 28, has missed the last two matches through illness and after losing half a stone in weight is doubtful for the Tykes' final game of the season at Plymouth, where they need a point to stave off relegation for a third successive season. Davey told the club's official website: "When Stephen does not play we do not win football matches - that has been a big stat for us this season and we have missed him. "We have drawn the last two without him, but we have not won those matches and he is a big influence on us. "Stephen leads by example and his performances are steady throughout the whole season. We rely on him and we get better results when he is in the team." Foster, who can play anywhere across the back four, started out at Crewe and after one season with Burnley joined Barnsley for a reported £100,000 in August 2007.
