Reds turn down two approaches for assistant.

Barnsley have this week turned down two approaches from Forest Green Rovers for their assistant manager Mickey Mellon.

The Skrill Premier outfit are looking for a new manager after sacking Dave Hockaday after four years in charge with the Gloucestershire outfit after a run of seven defeats in eight.

They have contacted Oakwell twice in the past week to seek permission to speak with Mellon who joined as David Flitcroft’s assistant on New Year’s Day but the club have rebuffed those overtures.
