Fifth Signing Imminent!

As Thompson links up with Davey....again! Sky Sports this morning reported that the Reds are close to the capture of former Derby County full-back Jay McEveley. The 25-year-old Scouser left Pride Park on June 30th after his contract expired after a succesful three year spell with the Rams. In those three years he made 101 first team appearances and scored six goals. The left-back began his career with Everton before moving on to Blackburn Rovers. He made 18 Premier League appearances for Rovers before signing for Derby in 2007. While at Ewood Park he had time on loan with Burnley, Gillingham and Ipswich. He also has made appearances for Preston and Charlton, both loan moves from Derby. Altogether in his league career he has made 165 appearances and scored eight times. He is understood to have agreed personal terms and the move is subject to a medical. Meanwhile, Jamaican defender O'Neil Thompson has again linked up with ex-boss Simon Davey at Hereford. Thompson was supposed to be joining Davey at Darlington but the Welshman resigned from the North East club and arranged for Thompson to join him at Edgar Street.
