Barnsley have completed a double deal, bringing in Burnley defender Steve Foster and Everton midfielder Anderson Silva Franca.
Twenty-seven-year-old Foster moves to Oakwell on a two-year contract for a fee of £100,000, having fallen down the pecking order at Turf Moor.
Clarets boss Steve Cotterill told the club's official website: "Steve Foster has been a good servant to us. He has perhaps been unable to break through and play in the starting line-up all of the time.
"We are hoping to now let him move on and maybe start playing some regular football.
"He's been a very good team member, but he obviously wanted to play some football."
Meanwhile, 24-year-old Franca joins the Tykes on a month's loan after making just a handful of appearances for the Toffees.
