Davey's delight with Tykes
15 Mar 2007 - 10:27:30
Barnsley manager Simon Davey was a happy man after seeing his side ease their relegation fears with a superb 4-2 victory at Plymouth Argyle.
Two outstanding long-range strikes from Martin Devaney were the inspiration for the Tykes, with Lewin Nyatanga and Istvan Ferenczi also getting on the scoresheet.
Davey told the club's official website: "It was a massive three points for us. We have lost our last two even though the performances were of the required standard.
"We worked hard and rolled our sleeves up. We put bodies in the way and the lads were dying for the cause.
"Now we have got to get back home, re-fuel, rest and take this performance into Saturday's game at Coventry.
"We have got to get our feet back on the ground because this was a massive win, but we need to build on it at Coventry."
