Barnsley have confirmed the permanent appointment of caretaker boss Simon Davey as their new manager.
Davey took charge at Oakwell in late November following the exit of Andy Ritchie and has guided the Tykes to three wins in his eight games in charge to date.
He told the club's official website: "I am very excited and it is an honour to be asked to manage a club of this stature.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed being in charge for the last month and cannot wait to move things forward.
"I am due to sit down with the chairman in the next week to discuss terms and to finalise the contract."
Meanwhile, the Tykes have confirmed that they have made a £200,000 offer for Rotherham United midfielder Lee Williamson.
Davey added: "We've been tracking Lee for four or five weeks, he's a ball-winner and can create goals too. He'd be an excellent addition to the squad."
