Barnsley manager Simon Davey is keen to extend defender Lewin Nyatanga's loan spell at Oakwell when the January transfer window opens.
The 19-year-old is currently on a six-month loan switch from Derby County and has impressed in his 11 appearances for the Tykes this term.
"That's another thing we have to look at in January," Davey told the club's official website.
"When I spoke with Billy Davies back in the summer he was only prepared to let Lewin out for six months, although we wanted him for the season.
"Who knows what the situation will be in January and there is always the chance that Derby could want him back with them.
"We'll have to wait until January, but I'd be very happy if Lewin stayed with us until the end of the season."
