Coulson on comeback trail

Barnsley striker Michael Coulson has taken another step in his recovery from cruciate knee ligament damage after scoring on his return for the reserves on Wednesday.

The promising 20-year-old has been out of action since suffering the injury during training back in April.

"We were really, really pleased with Michael and he played for more than 70 minutes, but could have probably done the whole game," assistant manager Ryan Kidd told the club's official website.

"He is still a long way off being ready for the first team, but it is great to have him back.

"It went better than we could have expected really. He now needs his match sharpness back, because mentally he looked fine."
