Coulson makes slow progress

Injured Barnsley striker Michael Coulson has been told he has no chance of returning to action until Christmas at the earliest.

The 20-year-old injured cruciate knee ligaments in a training ground incident in April and is continuing his recuperation following surgery.

Tykes physio Matt Konopinski told the club's official website: "Michael's coming along well after his operation.

"His progress will be limited by time now. He still has to wait and work through his rehab protocol as set by the specialist and that will be frustrating for him."
