Butts Named In Provisional GB List!

Barnsley and in particular Jacob Butterfield have achieved high international recognition this week after the 21 year old was named on the provisional list of players for the Great Britain Olympic squad for the London 2012 Games…..

......Butterfield has really shone this year since earning a regular spot under new manager Keith Hill and the captain’s armband, scoring five times in 23 appearances and the youngster who came through the Barnsley Academy earned his first call up to the England Under 21 squad in November.

Now he could be in line to play at an Olympic Games after Team GB manager Stuart Pearce placed Butterfield on the rather long list, which has to be narrowed down to 23. Butterfield has until mid January to confirm whether he would like considering for final selection.
