Jacob Butterfield feels Barnsley`s 4-2 win against Bristol City on Saturday was long overdue.
The Bradford-born midfielder, 20, turned in a man-of-the-match display at Oakwell and struck his side's decisive third goal before the break to help them reach the 50-point mark.
Butterfield told the club's official website: "We've not had the best results lately so it was vital to get three points.
"Everybody's delighted. I don't get enough goals. I'm capable - I have lots of shots and I'm delighted that went in.
"We've worked hard and put in good performances and not got the results in recent weeks so this has been coming."
