Reds captain must wait for first cap.

Barnsley’s top scorer and captain Jacob Butterfield has seen his first taste of the international fold pass without managing to earn his first cap.

The 21 year old who has hit four goals for The Reds this season earned his first call-up for the England Under 21’s back-to-back Euro 2013 Qualifying games.

Unfortunately for the former Manchester United trainee, he has sat on the bench for the entire 180 minutes.

After watching the Lions of the future crush Iceland 5-0 on Thursday, he remained sidelined as they lost their 100% record to a late Belgium goal last night.

Butterfield who was captured on video scoring a cracker in training for the Under 21s this week tried to hide his disappointing by saying on Facebook: ‘guess ill have to score a few more worldys in training next time!
