Bogdanovic blow for Tykes

Barnsley striker Daniel Bogdanovic is facing several weeks on the sidelines after damaging ankle ligaments during training.

The Malta international picked up the injury on Wednesday during new manager Mark Robins' first training session since taking the reins.

"Daniel went over on his ankle on Wednesday. We sent him for an X-ray which, thankfully, showed there was no fracture but there is a lot of swelling," physio Chris Burton told the club's official website.

"He's strained the ligament on the outside of his left ankle but we'll have to wait until the swelling goes down to make a complete assessment.

"Hopefully we'll know more on Monday but we're looking at weeks rather than days."

Bogdanovic has netted three goals in as many starts for the Tykes this season.
