Blackburn Sack Another Manager

Venky's weave their magic once more...

Blackburn Rovers have sacked manager Michael Appleton after 67 days in charge of the club, leaving them in 18th place, hovering dangerously close to the bottom three, and only two points ahead of the Reds.

Rovers' owners, Indian poultry giants Venky's have gained somewhat of a reputation since taking over the Ewood Park side for chopping and changing the managerial staff.

Appleton became the third permanent boss of the 2012/13 campaign after Henning Berg who lasted just 57 days at the helm, and former boss Steve Kean, who was vilified by all sections of the Rovers faithful after relegation from the Premier League last season. Eric Black and Gary Bowyer have also taken charge on a caretaker basis between managerial appointments.

Appleton left Blackpool for Blackburn on January 10th, after spending just 65 days with the Tangerines, which means he is looking for his third club in four months.

Peter Taylor, Tim Sherwood and former Forest boss Alex McLeish, who lasted 40 days at the City Ground, are the early favourites to take the reins at Ewood Park, but, given the Venky's trigger-happiness to sacking managers, it begs the question who would want to take over there?
