Barnsley have snubbed an enquiry for tireless midfielder Stephen Dawson from Birmingham City this weekend.
The 27 year old battler has been one of very few positive for The Reds in this sorry campaign since signing from Leyton Orient this summer and he put in another Man of the Match performance in today’s FA Cup victory over Burnley.
Prior to this match, Midlands side Birmingham enquired as to the availability of the Irish man who started his career in the Midlands, with Leicester City. But the Reds board rejected the move stating they would not discuss any transfer deals with buying or selling clubs until a new manager is appointed.
Bad news for Reds fans is that Birmingham are likely to return once a permanent man is in the Oakwell hotseat.
